The weekend of January 27, 28, and 29 of 2012 was a big weekend for four current Whatcom Hockey players and their families. Bantams Ernie Yake, Devon Wakelin, Stephen Smith, and Brett Hanson all were invited to the USA Hockey Development Camp in Wenatchee, WA.

The last weekend of January 2012 had a sweet ending for the Whatcom Warriors Peewee A-1 team as they stormed to 4 straight decisive victories to capture the first ever Moses Lake Winter Classic!

Last year’s Midget Rep young guns, Treven Salminen and Kristjan Toivola, were recently selected to play in the Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey Association annual Midget Scholarship Tournament.

At a recent PCAHA President’s Caucus meeting on October 30, 2011, it was agreed that a Committee would be struck to consider the extent to which body-checking should continue to be permitted in games played within the Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey Association.
